Kuwait thwarts Daesh terror plot targeting key facility

Kuwait's Ministry of Interior disclosed that security forces successfully thwarted a Daesh-linked terror plot targeting a critical facility. The ministry announced the arrest of a suspect, who was affiliated with the Daesh terrorist group, prior to the intended attack. According to a statement from the ministry, security forces, including the State Security apparatus, intercepted the plot through extensive surveillance and monitoring.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had undergone training in explosive and drone construction, having built a drone specifically for the planned assault on the vital facility.

Legal proceedings were initiated against the suspect, and he has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and the necessary action as per Kuwaiti law. The Ministry of Interior emphasized that its security agencies will persist with proactive operations to identify and counter any activities or schemes that endanger the nation's security and stability.

The ministry underscored its unwavering stance against any individual attempting to undermine the country's security or the safety of its citizens and residents, vowing to act firmly against suspicious activities in accordance with the law.
