Jesse Lee Soffer Reunites With ‘FBI: International’ EP Matt Olmstead for Heartland Crime Drama at CBS

Jesse Lee Soffer and Executive Producer Matt Olmstead are teaming up again for a new crime drama titled "Strike Force" at CBS. This project is set in America's heartland and revolves around a seasoned DEA agent who returns to Kansas City to lead a multi-agency unit combating violent criminals exploiting the region. Olmstead will co-write and executive produce the show alongside Soffer, who would take on the starring role if the series receives a series order.

The two previously collaborated on the fourth season of "FBI: International" and NBC's "Chicago P.D.", both of which were produced by Wolf Entertainment. Additional executive producers for "Strike Force" include Jerry Bruckheimer and Kristie Anne Reed, who are associated with Jerry Bruckheimer TV. The show is currently in development at CBS Studios and falls under the long-term development strategy for the network's scripted shows for the 2027-28 television season.

CBS has also granted pilot orders for other projects, including "Hilda! (In Lights)", a single-camera comedy about a 70-year-old woman from Nebraska pursuing her Broadway dreams, and "Flint", a crime drama featuring Evan Katz and Matt LeBlanc. The network is also developing a medical drama set in the world of "Fire Country", which will debut as a backdoor pilot in the upcoming season of "Sheriff Country".
