IYD: Your energy, ideas needed, Soludo’s wife celebrates Nigerian youths

On International Youth Day, Anambra State's First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, called upon young people throughout Nigeria to have confidence in themselves and continue learning. She emphasized that they are not just tomorrow's leaders, but active changemakers actively shaping the world today. Dr Soludo, founder of the NGO Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, urged young people not to underestimate the impact their ideas, energy, and courage can have in creating a better future.

In a press release, she stated that young people are innovators, entrepreneurs, creators, and problem-solvers who are shaping society now. She encouraged the creation of environments where young people can learn, build, lead, and thrive, adding that every young person deserves the chance to realize their potential and bring their aspirations to life.

The Nigerian government has also taken steps to support young people, with the Federal Government attaching 300 corps members to Community Service Centers after training. A total of 18,510 trained artisans have received starter packs. Dr Soludo highlighted the challenges and opportunities faced by young people worldwide while celebrating their vital role in achieving sustainable development.

International Youth Day, observed annually on August 12, raises awareness about issues relevant to youth and emphasizes their importance in achieving sustainable development goals.
