Ipswich agree fee for Paraguay forward Enciso

Ipswich Town have finalized a deal to bring forward Julio Enciso from Strasbourg, according to recent reports. The 22-year-old Paraguayan international player showcased his skills under the current Ipswich manager, Gary O Neil, during his time at Strasbourg last season. The newly appointed Portman Road manager had been pushing for an early reunion with the player. Enciso's return to Ipswich also represents his second stint at the club after a six-month loan spell with Brighton in 2025.

Enciso was well-regarded during his period at Strasbourg, a club that shares ownership with Chelsea through the BlueCo group. Club officials expressed confidence in his potential to secure a move to Chelsea in the future. While the exact fee for Enciso has not been disclosed, insiders believe it will represent a significant share of Ipswich's remaining transfer budget and will be a substantial profit for Strasbourg, considering they paid £7.7m for him last summer.

Ipswich has already made 10 major signings this summer, including Daizen Maeda from Celtic, Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City, and the club-record signing Emerson from Toulouse. It is uncertain whether the deal for Enciso will surpass the £24m the Tractor Boys paid for Emerson earlier in the transfer window. With the team having secured promotion from the Championship, Ipswich is set to begin their Premier League campaign against Sunderland on August 22nd.
