While handling the device, one notable observation was that one half of it is thicker than the other. This is unusual for foldable phones, as the two halves typically differ only slightly in size. Upon closer inspection, it became clear that one half of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is either thicker or thinner than the other, depending on the perspective.

Interestingly, it's not the half with the cameras and Qi2 magnet hardware that is thinner – rather, it's the half containing the cover display that appears thicker. When opened, the inner display's plane becomes flat, while the back of the phone remains slightly uneven. This unevenness isn't significant enough to cause discomfort in handling, but it is visible to the eye.

Google attributes this design choice to its goal of making the Pixel 11 Pro Fold thinner. Despite having a similar battery capacity and Qi2 hardware as its predecessor, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is about 1mm thinner, measuring 10.1mm when closed. This difference is noticeable during actual use, making the uneven halves a worthwhile trade-off for a more comfortable device.
