Huge Helldivers 2 Patch Adds New Illuminate Enemies, a New Biome 'Full of Fresh Horrors,' a Level Cap Increase and Much More

Helldivers 2, developed by Arrowhead, has seen a significant update with the release of patch 7.0.0. This update brings new Illuminate enemies, a new biome, and an increase in the level cap. Players will now face off against "new, hideously mutated organisms" emerging from the Void, described by the game as "ghoulish diversions wrought into existence by the Illuminate scourge to threaten our freedom."

In addition to the new enemies, the patch introduces a new SEAF planet modifier, allowing Super Earth Armed Forces to join players in battle. These friendly NPC troops come equipped with new tools such as Stim pistols and Heavy Machine guns, along with updated visuals and improved behavior.

The patch also expands emote slots from 4 to 8, and includes an assisted reload improvement. The Helldiver rank system has been expanded beyond level 150, adding 15 new ranks and titles up to level 300. Each new rank comes with its own unique title and icon.

Moreover, the patch addresses community feedback by introducing changes to community-requested features. Super Earth engineers have upgraded the GATER with a more powerful Super V48 Interceptor engine, improving its speed and handling. The Constitution now features stripper clips. The assisted reload action has been reevaluated to reduce complexity, promoting its use more frequently. Weapon icons for backpack weapons and expendable weapons have been updated for easier identification.
