Guru prasekolah didakwa amang seksual murid dalam kelas

A 42-year-old primary school teacher, Muhamad Shazali Sharipudin, has been found guilty of two counts of sexual assault on a male student aged eight in April of last year, according to a verdict handed down by the Seremban Sessions Court. The case, which involved two separate incidents, saw Shazali accused of committing physical sexual assault with a sexual intent in a classroom at a school in Rembau on the mornings of April 10 and April 3. The charges fall under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

If convicted, Shazali could face up to 20 years in prison and/or a fine. His co-defendant, Nurul Balkis Zunaidi, offered a RM20,000 bail with two additional conditions for Shazali. His lawyer, Syed Amirul Syed Edros, informed the court that Shazali's 17-year-old employee wife is still young and has a monthly net income of RM4,000.

He added that Shazali has now been transferred to the Rembau District Education Office and no longer teaches at the school in question, and there is no risk of him fleeing. The court ordered a RM8,000 bail for the two charges, along with conditions such as not disturbing the victim or witnesses, reporting to the police station monthly, and surrendering his passport to the court. The bail is set to be imposed on September 15 for the submission of documents.
