Between April and June 2026, the port city of Guayaquil in Ecuador welcomed tourists and excursionists who spent a staggering US$140.25 million. This figure represents substantial economic activity, even without knowing the exact number of visitors. The spending was dominated by tourists from Colombia (26.70%), followed by Panamanians (11.64%).

The United States came in third with 8.06% of the total. The remaining top spenders were Argentina (7.43%), Peru (6.42%), and Spain (6.28%).
