Garbage truck crashes into 3 parked cars at Pantai Hillpark

A garbage truck collided with three parked vehicles at Pantai Hillpark in Kuala Lumpur this morning. The incident occurred at around 4:10am on Jalan Pantai Murni 1. Police attributed the crash to the truck's brake failure, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The truck breached the wall of a condominium complex and struck the three unoccupied cars.

The 41-year-old driver was not present at the scene when emergency services arrived. He was found at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz in Cheras, where he was being treated for a left leg injury. Two Bangladeshi workers who were collecting garbage in the area at the time escaped unharmed. The driver reported the accident to the Kuala Lumpur traffic police station at 3:15pm, and a breathalyzer test revealed no alcohol in his system.

The truck will undergo further examination at Puspakom to determine the exact cause of the accident. The incident is under investigation for careless and inconsiderate driving under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
