Garbage truck crashes into 3 parked cars at Pantai Hillpark

Police revealed that a garbage truck experienced a brake failure and crashed into three parked cars at Pantai Hillpark early this morning. A traffic investigation chief, Zamzuri Isa, explained that the incident occurred around 4:10am as the truck was descending a straight road. The driver, who was not present at the scene, lost control of the vehicle, which then rammed through the wall of a condominium compound before hitting three unoccupied cars inside.

The 41-year-old driver was discovered at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz in Cheras, where he was being treated for a left leg injury. Two Bangladeshi workers were present and unharmed when the accident happened. The driver subsequently reported the incident to the Kuala Lumpur traffic police station at 3:15pm. A breathalyzer test showed no alcohol in the driver's system, indicating the accident was not alcohol-related.

The truck will undergo further inspection at Puspakom to ascertain the precise cause of the collision. The case is being examined for careless and inconsiderate driving under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
