Elon Musk’s answer to Claude Cowork: What is Grok Bot and what makes it different?

Elon Musk's SpaceXAI introduced Grok Bot, an agentic AI product designed to continuously perform tasks across software and tools used by employees. Developed in collaboration with AI coding startup Cursor, Grok Bot is currently in early beta and allows users to create a team of autonomous agents, or Bots, each with specific jobs.

Bots operate independently, each assigned to a particular task, and can access user applications and websites. They function even when the user's device is closed, and communicate when they need approval or have completed the task. The bots are designed to be capable of handling complex, long-horizon tasks and can even delegate work to one another.

The concept of Grok Bot originated from an internal prototype where teams created a swarm of Bots to automate various workloads, including sales outreach, marketing campaigns, office operations, and bug fixes. SpaceXAI aims to provide a more cohesive management model for persistent AI agents, each with assigned tasks, enhanced memory, and learned user routines.

Grok Bot differentiates itself from other AI agents in the market by not requiring an API or Model Context Protocol (MCP) for each application or website. Instead, each Bot has its own computer and can perform tasks through the same software interfaces a human employee would use. Additionally, Grok Bot's Bots can learn user routines and proactively take initiative, identifying tasks before the user specifies them explicitly.
