Coalition should collapse their structures into Labour Party- Nenadi

The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Nenadi Usman, has urged political parties to merge their structures into her party ahead of the 2027 elections. She believes the Labour Party (LP) is the only opposition party with a widespread presence across the country's polling units. Usman highlighted that the combined strength of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), both seen as integral parts of the LP, positions the party to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

At a recent event in Bauchi, Usman drew parallels between former President Goodluck Jonathan's post-2015 election conduct and the need for future political leaders to emulate his non-violent approach to politics. She emphasized that Jonathan's decision to concede defeat before the final results were announced was unprecedented in Nigeria's political history, and questioned whether the next set of presidential hopefuls would be willing to make similar sacrifices for the country's democracy.
