CIPM pushes strategic shift, inducts 78 members

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has announced a strategic shift to position human resource professionals as key drivers of business transformation. During the institute's 71st induction ceremony, held virtually, 78 new members were inducted, representing a milestone in the evolving role of HR. Ahmed Gobir, President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIPM, emphasized the changing nature of work and the need for HR leaders to embrace innovation, professional excellence, and technology-driven solutions.

Gobir highlighted that membership in CIPM comes with ethical responsibilities and a commitment to continuous development. Guest speaker Reverend Dr. Collins Edebiri, FCIPM, challenged HR professionals to become strategic partners in decision-making and business growth, underscoring the evolving role of HR in shaping organisational performance.

The ceremony comes as organizations worldwide reassess workforce strategies in response to rapid technological changes, artificial intelligence adoption, and shifting employee expectations. CIPM aims to equip HR practitioners with the necessary skills to lead organisations in a digital and rapidly changing work environment.
