Bus driver charged after rollover in Ontario town leaves 17 injured

A bus driver has been charged after a rollover on Highway 17 near Wawa, Ontario, left 17 passengers hospitalized, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). The incident occurred just before 7 a.m. Tuesday when the passenger bus overturned onto its side and ended up in a ditch. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene as several passengers reported injuries.

Seventeen individuals were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and have since been released. Following an investigation, the bus driver was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act. Police have not disclosed the driver's name or the specific details of the crash. The OPP remained at the scene on Tuesday as crews worked to remove the bus from the ditch.
