BTS' V reveals hearing loss, Jungkook performs through shin injury on world tour

Seoul, August 12 - BTS vocalist V disclosed on Wednesday that he is undergoing medical treatment for a hearing impairment which has reduced his hearing in his right ear to roughly 30 percent. Speaking during a live stream on the K-pop fan platform Weverse with bandmate Jungkook, V explained that his hearing began to deteriorate around 2.5 years ago and has not improved fully.

The two members conversed casually over a meal after concluding their consecutive performances in Baltimore, Maryland, as part of BTS' North American tour for their album "Arirang". V stated, "My left ear can hear at 100 percent, while my right ear is only 30 percent", and detailed that he is on medication and visiting the hospital frequently for treatment.

Jungkook revealed he is coping with an injury near his shin that he described as being close to a stress fracture, accompanied by notable swelling and what he perceives as micro-damage to the bone. Despite his desire to energetically perform on stage, Jungkook acknowledged pain forced him to limit his movements, requesting fans' understanding.

He expressed his intention to manage the injury carefully to ensure he can complete the tour successfully. Post-show, the band is set to perform at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on August 15-16 and Toronto's Rogers Stadium on August 22-23.
