Bersama sees rise in membership after Negeri Sembilan polls

Bersama, a political party, experienced a significant surge in membership following the recent Negeri Sembilan election. The election resulted in a loss for Pakatan Harapan (PH), allowing the Barisan Nasional-Perikatan Nasional alliance to take power. As a result, party leader Rafizi Ramli announced that Bersama now has approximately 29,200 members, with the majority of new members having no prior association with any political party.

Rafizi noted that 60% of Bersama's members had never joined a political party before, and this group continues to account for the majority of daily membership applications. Of the remaining members, 25% were former members of the People's Justice Party (PKR), while 15% came from other parties, primarily Malay-based organizations. This leaves less than 1% of Bersama's membership consisting of former members of the Democratic Action Party (DAP).

Rafizi hinted at the possibility of more MPs joining Bersama, specifically referencing Wong Chen, a former Subang MP who quit PKR and joined the party. However, he could not speak for other MPs. Additionally, Bersama has announced plans to hold its internal elections within the next six to seven months, pending the passage of amendments to its constitution.
