Banditry: FG deploys fresh troops to Kwara

The Federal Government has bolstered its security measures in Kwara State by deploying additional troops to Omu Aran. This strategic move aims to tackle rampant banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in vulnerable areas of the state. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq announced these developments during a military parade in the state, where he received the newly arrived soldiers.

The deployment stems from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's pledge to enhance security in Kwara and shield residents from criminal elements. AbdulRazaq emphasized the seriousness of this security initiative and the positive impact of the new military presence. The government has also approved the establishment of five new Army battalions in the state, with the existing brigade moving to Bode Saadu.

Plans are underway for another battalion in Patigi, following a military team's site identification visit. The deployment of these troops, combined with the formation of the Nigerian Army's 9 Division, is set to reinforce the state's defense structure. Governor AbdulRazaq assured the soldiers of his administration's full support and cooperation, pledging to provide necessary resources to facilitate their seamless integration and effective operations.

He urged the troops to remain steadfast in their mission to safeguard communities. Regarding the welfare of the new personnel, the state government has provided a package to ease their transition into their new roles and accommodations.
