American Cola unveils revamped Ilupeju basketball court

Planet Bottling Company has unveiled the American Cola Creative Court, a revamped basketball facility in Ilupeju, Lagos, in collaboration with the Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area. The court has been transformed into a multi-purpose space to foster grassroots sports, urban culture, and youth expression. Marketing Manager Naji Awada emphasized the project's goal to cultivate basketball talent and strengthen community bonds.

Communications Manager Franklyn Eluagu mentioned that the company is scouting basketball communities in Lagos to improve facilities and support player development. American Cola presented jerseys to the male and female basketball teams of the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, which are expected to last the teams for two years. The partnership has already attracted numerous participants from the area and other local governments.

The renovation took place during the second edition of the American Cola Shoot the Hoop and Half Court tournaments, which included 24 teams competing for a ₦5m prize pool. Winners of the Shoot the Hoop and Half Court competitions received various cash prizes.
