Africa Green STEM Foundation donates computers to Nungua SHS to bridge digital gap

The Africa Green STEM and Innovation Fund Foundation, in collaboration with its donor, recently presented 10 cutting-edge touchscreen computers to Nungua Senior High School in Ghana's Greater Accra Region. The aim of this donation is to bolster the school's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) curriculum and enhance students' digital skills.

This gesture came about after a visit by the Greater Accra Regional STEM Coordinator, Berthy Buah. She noted that the lack of sufficient computers was hindering students' preparations for ICT examinations. Many students were forced to share or borrow laptops, a situation which prompted her to recommend that the school reach out to the Foundation for assistance.

Upon receiving the computers, Nungua SHS Headmistress Regina Tetteh expressed her gratitude to both the Foundation and its donor partner. She emphasized that the new machines would significantly boost ICT lessons and bolster the students' digital competencies. Mrs Tetteh also assured the Foundation that the school would diligently maintain the computers and utilize them exclusively for educational purposes.

The school further called upon other entities to contribute towards closing the digital infrastructure gap in schools across Ghana. The Africa Green STEM and Innovation Fund Foundation reiterated its dedication to supporting schools throughout the country in advancing digital education. They pledged to oversee the use of the computers, develop the skills of teachers and students, conduct annual impact evaluations, and subsequently provide feedback to the donor.
