National Assembly member 이진숙, alongside the "New Historical National Movement," plans to hold a forum on the 5·18 democratic uprising at the National Assembly Library's grand hall on the 13th. However, political circles have called for an immediate halt to this event. The progressive Democratic Party's representative, 노혜령, in a briefing titled "Immediate Cancellation of 이진숙's 5·18 Uprising Misrepresentation Forum," stated that a group with a non-historical and anti-social perception is organizing a forum to tarnish the memory of the 5·18 uprising.

The representative of "New Historical National Movement," 이영훈, a former professor from Seoul University, leads this organization. This group argues that "national violence was a premeditated massacre and therefore cannot be defined as such." 진보당 has called the group's demands "shocking and even disgusting."
