(Picture Bernama) In Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, four women among the 12 individuals arrested for impersonating police officers and conspiring with a Taiwanese national YouTuber in an apartment in Kuala Lumpur.

Chief Marsus said his department received a report from a 43-year-old Japanese man on August 1, informing him that a 38-year-old Taiwanese YouTuber had been beaten and detained. According to him, the injured victim suffered losses estimated to be over RM35,000. Following this, eight men and four women aged between 26 and 48 years old were detained in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Kuala Lumpur.

He said that seven suspects were released on police bail on August 7 after providing a statement, while five remained detained until tomorrow to assist with the investigation under Section 170 of the Penal Code (impersonating a public officer) and Section 395 of the Penal Code (conspiring to commit an offense). The investigation found that the motive behind the incident was believed to be the suspects' knowledge of the victim's possession of a significant amount of foreign currency cash, which ultimately led to the crime.
