Women's football shouldn't be penalised by Uefa boycott - Nandy

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has voiced her opposition to a potential Uefa boycott of next month's Under-20 Women's World Cup in Poland. She believes such a boycott would unfairly penalize young female athletes who have worked hard to reach this stage in their careers. Poland, along with England, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and France, are among the 55 Uefa members who have threatened to withdraw from the tournament due to FIFA president Gianni Infantino's plan to sell stakes in the World Cup.

Nandy, who advocates for Infantino's resignation over his Forward Enterprise proposal, stressed that the focus should be on resolving the situation and ensuring the tournament proceeds without disruption. She emphasized that football should be about bringing people together and not dividing them further through boycotts.
