Walker targets instant Burnley top-flight return

Burnley defender Kyle Walker has urged his teammates to avoid a hangover following their relegation from the Premier League and focus on securing an immediate return to the top flight. Burnley finished 19th in the league last season and kick off their Championship campaign against West Ham, another relegated club from the same season. The 36-year-old former England international emphasized the importance of bouncing back and staying in the Premier League for the club's legacy and the support of fans.

Walker stressed the need for a strong mentality, as the team has experienced both the Premier League and relegation in the past. He acknowledged that the lads had a taste of the Premier League but wanted to ensure they were fully prepared from the first minute. Burnley only won four top-flight games last season, falling 19 points behind 17th-placed Tottenham.

Despite the challenges, Walker remains optimistic and excited about the prospect of returning to the Premier League with Burnley. He has previously played a part of the 2010-11 season on loan with Queens Park Rangers, winning a promotion medal.
