Vietnam’s VinSpace signs launch contract with SpaceX for 2027

Vietnam's VinSpace, a subsidiary of the Vingroup conglomerate, has entered into a launch agreement with SpaceX that will enable the company to deploy its satellites into orbit via a Transporter rideshare mission in 2027, according to a recent report. This development represents a significant advancement in Vietnam's space aspirations.

As per the contract, VinSpace's satellites will be accommodated alongside other clients on a SpaceX launch, facilitated through the company's rideshare program. The Vietnamese aerospace enterprise disclosed this information on Tuesday.

Upon signing the contract, VinSpace assumes the responsibility of researching, developing, and manufacturing the satellites, alongside their operational management in orbit. In April, the company had unveiled plans to develop and launch its inaugural satellites by 2027. Speaking about the contract, Thu Vu, the Chief Executive of VinSpace, emphasized the importance of reliable access to space in transforming satellite innovation into functional missions.

She referred to the agreement as a crucial milestone in VinSpace's strategy to foster Vietnam's burgeoning space ecosystem.
