Vertiv to create up to 300 new jobs amid plans for Letterkenny expansion

Vertiv, a US tech company specializing in data centre and IT services, is set to expand its operations in Letterkenny, Ireland, potentially creating up to 300 new jobs. The company has applied to Donegal County Council to add 7,000 square meters of space to its existing facility, signalling a significant growth in its manufacturing and testing footprint across Ireland and the north-west.

Vertiv is also planning to further develop its presence in other parts of Ireland, with recruitment sites in Donegal, Derry, Limerick, and Dublin. Since the beginning of 2026, the company has already hired over 500 employees across its local facilities.

The new opportunities will encompass various engineering and operational roles, focusing on expanding manufacturing capacity and enhancing Vertiv's technical expertise in power, cooling, and industrialised infrastructure. The company's growth is driven by the increasing demand for critical digital infrastructure, and it aims to support customers in deploying AI and data centre capacity worldwide.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin welcomed Vertiv's decision to expand in Donegal and create hundreds of new skilled jobs, emphasizing that such investments foster balanced regional development and strengthen Ireland's enterprise base. Paul Ryan, Vertiv's president in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, highlighted the strategic importance of the company's operations in Ireland and the north-west, stating that the planned investment aligns with the growing demand for critical digital infrastructure.

Vertiv's expansion in Ireland is part of its ongoing efforts to support growth and create opportunities for skills development and career advancement across the region. The acquisition of Donegal-based company E&I Engineering Ireland for $1.8 billion in 2021 further strengthens Vertiv's position in the market.
