UP Scholarship 2026-27: Application process for Classes 9 to 12 starts today at scholarship.up.gov.in

The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has launched the application process for the UP scholarship 2026-27 for students in Classes 9 to 12. The online registration began today, August 11, via the official scholarship portal - scholarship.up.gov.in. Applications can be submitted by signing in or registering with personal details on the portal.

The scholarship aims to provide financial aid to eligible students from General, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backwards Classes (OBC), and minority backgrounds.

For students in Classes 9 and 11, the fresh application period runs from August 11 to September 21, 2026. Students in Classes 10 and 12 who are renewing their scholarships can apply between August 11 and August 25, 2026. Prior to the student registration, the department completed preparatory work, including school-level master data preparation from July 22 to August 5 and school verification by District School Inspectors from July 23 to August 9.

Once students submit their applications, schools will verify them and forward the eligible ones. The District School Inspector will conduct further verification, followed by a technical check by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to identify errors in the submitted data. The verified list will then be finalized by the district committee. The scholarship funds will be transferred directly to students' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

Renewal scholarship payments are scheduled for October 25-31, 2026, while fresh applicants are expected to receive their funds between January 25-31, 2027. The scholarship program also extends to students pursuing graduation, postgraduate, diploma, and ITI courses under the Dashmottar category. Dashmottar fresh applicants can register starting September 15, with the deadline for submissions on October 31, 2026.
