Two men with combined 52 criminal records nabbed over Jasin KK Mart robbery

JASIN, Aug 11 — Police have apprehended two men, aged 44 and 45, who are suspected of engaging in an armed robbery at a KK Mart convenience store located in Taman Maju on August 6. Supt Lee Robert, the Jasin district police chief, disclosed that the suspects were apprehended separately, with the first individual caught on the roadside near Jalan PPJ 3 in Jasin town and the second one arrested in Sagil, Tangkak, Johor.

According to the police statement, the first suspect confessed to riding a motorcycle and waiting outside the store, while the second suspect entered KK Mart to carry out the robbery. Items believed to be related to the incident were seized by the authorities, including three mobile phones, clothing, shoes, two helmets, a paper cutter knife, and a KTM Duke 200 motorcycle.

The first suspect has a criminal record of 22 offenses, while the second individual, who is under the supervision of the Tangkak District Police Headquarters, has 30 previous convictions. The investigation is being conducted under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery involving the use of a weapon. Both suspects will appear before the Jasin Magistrate’s Court today for a remand application.
