The European Union's football governing body, UEFA, and two other confederations have reportedly engaged in discussions about managing their own competitions due to the backlash against Infantino. The Asian Football Confederation and CONCACAF have accused Infantino of deception, and while they desire to grant him the opportunity to resign gracefully without seeking re-election, they aim to distance themselves from the crisis.

UEFA has threatened a boycott of FIFA tournaments. Infantino has apologized for his proposal to create FIFA Forward Enterprise, a company to oversee the commercial and operational aspects of FIFA tournaments, and sell around 20% of it to private investors.
