Trump demands Iran pay compensation for slain Americans and protesters

U.S. President Donald Trump revealed on Tuesday that he discreetly departed Air Force One during a recent summit in Turkey, following the Secret Service and military's request for him to board a different plane and different flight. This move came after a report from The Washington Post on Monday, which claimed that Trump had stowed away in an airport catering container to escape Air Force One, which was later sent away as a decoy in case Iran carried out an attack.

The president expressed that he followed their instructions, with the plane he boarded being at a higher risk of attack. The Israeli military later mistakenly fired an interceptor at what was identified as their own fire within the Security Zone in southern Lebanon, causing no injuries. Additionally, Israeli forces condemned settlers who established an outpost near a Palestinian family's home in Qusra, near Nablus, deeming it illegal and reprehensible.

U.S. Central Command disabled the Panama-flagged Vela Nova after it attempted to sail toward an Iranian port in defiance of the U.S. blockade. The military said the ship was no longer on a path to Iran. Supreme Court President Isaac Amit criticized the Knesset for not setting up polling stations in nursing homes for the October election, stating it was a democratic step backward.

Iran's newly appointed national security chief, Mohsen Rezaei, asserted that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed until the U.S. altered its actions and accepted Iran's conditions for ending the conflict.
