Thorns and USWNT midfielder Olivia Moultrie will miss the rest of the NWSL season with ACL injury

Portland Thorns midfielder Olivia Moultrie will miss the remainder of the NWSL season due to an ACL injury, the team announced on Tuesday. The 20-year-old, who also represents the U.S. national team, sustained the injury during training last week. Moultrie expressed her heartbreak over missing the sport she loves, stating that she will work hard to return stronger.

The Thorns' president and general manager, Jeff Agoos, praised Moultrie's determination and pledged his team's full support during her recovery. Moultrie, a U.S. Soccer Young Player of the Year in 2023, contributed five goals and five assists for the Thorns this season in 18 appearances. She is expected to miss the CONCACAF W Championship, which serves as qualifying for the 2026 Women's World Cup.
