Kristian Matsson, also known as The Tallest Man on Earth, has announced his eighth studio album, Just Beyond Endless Mountain, which will be released on October 9th through ANTI-. The folk singer-songwriter unveiled the lead single, "Deliver Me from Trying," ahead of the album's release. Just Beyond Endless Mountain showcases Matsson's roots in Swedish traditional music, with 11 songs drawn from polkas and other sounds from his upbringing in Dalarna, central Sweden.

In an interview, Matsson admitted he had a lack of knowledge about his cultural heritage but now feels more connected to it after returning to Sweden and immersing himself in its history. The album's creation was also influenced by a period of loss, as Matsson's father passed away in 2024 after battling Alzheimer's disease. This personal loss motivated some of the album's themes and lyrics, leading Matsson to create a record that feels deeply personal and genuine.

Collaborating with artists like Sofia HK and Björn Sima, as well as producers like Martin Hederos, Matsson produced Just Beyond Endless Mountain primarily in his home studio.
