T.I. AMASS, Wa breaks decade-long jinx to qualify for NSMQ national contest

T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, located in Wa, has finally achieved a significant milestone after a decade-long struggle. The school has secured its place at the National Science and Maths Quiz national contest after achieving a second-place finish in its regional competition. T.I. AMASS emerged victorious with 30 points, narrowly trailing Nandom SHS, which secured the top spot with an impressive 53 points.

Lassia Tuolu SHS rounded out the top three with just 8 points. For T.I. AMASS, this accomplishment represents the culmination of a long wait and marks the school's inaugural appearance on the national stage.

In the final round of the Upper West qualifiers, St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS claimed the top position with a commanding 50 points, securing the region's last automatic qualification. Wa SHS followed closely with 22 points, while Kanton SHS and Tumu SHS rounded out the top five with 17 and 12 points respectively. Wa SHS and Kanton SHS also secured runner-up finishes, joining T.I.

AMASS, Nandom SHS, and St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS in representing the Upper West region at the national contest. These five schools will now join qualifiers from across Ghana and the 27 seeded schools in the quest for the 2026 NSMQ championship.
