오마이뉴스 노조·기협 “최민희, 언론 취재 방해·감시 사과하라”

The Democratic Party's chief nominee, 최민희, has called for an apology from 오마이뉴스 and an immediate resignation from her campaign staff for allegedly breaching rules regarding media access during the 8th and 17th party congresses. 오마이뉴스 members demanded that 최 후보 apologize publicly and step down from both the nominee and member positions.

The 11th statement released by the federation of the newspaper workers of 오마이뉴스 and the Korean newspaper association urged 최 후보 to "publicly apologize" for the alleged surveillance and disruption of TV cameras and filming by her campaign staff. The statement also criticized 오마이뉴스 reporter for posting on Facebook that 최 후보 was favoring certain candidates, questioning the legitimacy of her accusations.

The 오마이뉴스 union and the Korean journalists' association demanded the immediate resignation of the offending campaign staff and an apology from 최 후보. They questioned why the journalist's past work history was being brought up and whether it was relevant to the fairness of her reporting. The 오마이뉴스 union also pointed out that 최 후보's past actions, including removing a MBC reporter during a joint press conference, contradicted her current complaints.

Despite being a member of the Korean journalists' union, 최 후보's actions did not align with journalistic ethics, according to the union.
