South African jobs at stake as March and March close immigrant shops in Mdantsane

South African workers at immigrant-owned shops in Mdantsane fear for their jobs after the closure of several businesses by the activist group March and March. The group has warned immigrant shop owners to leave the country and close their shops. Many workers, such as Lona Twayise, who lost her job at a hardware store, are unsure when the protesters will return.

Patel, a hardware store owner, said he employs seven South Africans and others are scared of the aggressive protesters. Some businesses have reopened, but not all, leaving workers anxious about their future.
