Sheikh Jingir: Rev Dachomo said worse things – Bashir Ahmad to Rufai Oseni

Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential media aide, has asserted that Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, a Christian pastor from Plateau, made remarks more reprehensible than those attributed to Islamic cleric Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir. Jingir recently defended his stance in support of a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2027 general elections in Kano State.

The cleric criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for fielding a Muslim-Muslim ticket, citing the numerical dominance of Muslims over Christians in the country. He further labeled Christians as infidels and asserted that Nigeria belongs to Muslims, eliciting widespread condemnation and calls for his arrest. In response to the uproar, renowned television host Rufai Oseni questioned the reaction should a Christian cleric have made similar remarks, noting that "If a Christian cleric had said what Jingir said."

However, Ahmad countered that Dachomo had previously uttered comments even more offensive. In a post on his official X account, Ahmad stated, "It is not a competition, Rufai, but I can tell you that Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo has said things that were even worse. Both utterances are wrong."
