Divya Bhatt, a content creator from Manali in Himachal Pradesh, has shared the true costs of living in the mountains. In a viral video titled “Episode 1 of Living in the Mountains,” she details their monthly expenses, revealing an affordable lifestyle. Their 4 BHK home serves as both residence and homestay, with rent costing around Rs 15,000 for a 1 BHK or Rs 25,000 for a 2 BHK.

Food, primarily prepared at home, adds Rs 10,000 to their monthly spending, while dining out contributes Rs 5,000. Commuting is cheap, with walking covering the majority of their travel needs at around Rs 3,000. Water is free, and electricity is surprisingly affordable, totaling approximately Rs 1,000. Their combined internet and phone plans amount to Rs 2,500.

Despite numerous free activities, the couple allocates Rs 3,000 for occasional mountain adventures. Altogether, Divya estimates that a comfortable life in the mountains costs around Rs 50,000 per month.
