Medeama set sights on CAF Champions League glory – Aubynn

Medeama SC Chairman Dr Toni Aubynn has set his sights on clinching the ultimate prize in the upcoming 2026/27 CAF Champions League as the club prepares to represent Ghana in Africa's elite club competition. The Yellow and Mauve secured their spot in the tournament after winning the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title, and they will kick off their continental campaign by playing against Congolese powerhouses TP Mazembe in the preliminary round.

Dr Aubynn emphasized that Medeama is determined to not only progress but also to win the cup, making both Ghana and the people of the Western Region proud. He stated, "In the past, we wanted to progress to the money zone, but now our aim is to win the cup itself by making Ghana proud and the people of the Western Region proud. Our target is to go for the kill."

While acknowledging the difficulty of facing TP Mazembe at such an early stage, Dr Aubynn believes the Ghanaian champions have the capability to compete strongly and challenge their more experienced opponents. He added, "Medeama would draw on the experience gained from their previous appearances in the CAF Champions League as they seek to make a strong impression on the continent."

Currently, Medeama is in Ivory Coast as part of their preparations for the upcoming season and the Champions League campaign.
