Riyadh FC signs Egypt’s Trezeguet on free transfer from Al Ahly

Riyadh FC has signed Egyptian winger Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet on a free transfer from Al Ahly for the 2026-2027 season. The club made the announcement on Tuesday through its official X account, accompanied by a video introduction that read, "From the land of the Pharaohs... to the Central School." Trezeguet, 31, mutually ended his contract with Al Ahly after just one season back at his childhood club.

In his previous campaign, he played 32 matches across all competitions, scoring 18 goals and providing one assist, but the Egyptian international failed to claim any titles. Trezeguet also captained Egypt during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, netting a goal and assisting another, before committing to his new Saudi Pro League club. With a storied career abroad, the veteran has donned the jerseys of clubs including Aston Villa, Anderlecht, Trabzonspor, and Al Rayyan, competing in the English Premier League, Turkish Super Lig, Belgian Pro League, and Qatar Stars League.
