Qatar's skydiving team readies up for WMPC in Slovakia

The Qatar national skydiving team, associated with the Qatar Air Sports Committee under the Joint Special Forces, is gearing up for the CISM 48th World Military Parachuting Championships (WMPC) in Slovakia. The event runs from Friday to August 23 and will see 33 nations' teams compete. Having secured the Accuracy Landing competition title at the previous CISM Qatar 2025 event, the Qatar parachute team (Al Hadaf) aims to retain their title.

Known for their excellence in the field, Al Hadaf has a remarkable track record, setting the Guinness World Record for the largest night-time parachuting canopy formation. In the senior individuals category, Mohammed al-Marri will compete for Al Hadaf. Ali al-Yafei and Saleh al-Karbi will represent the team in the junior individuals category.

Abdulaziz Abdullah, Khalid Shaja, Saleh al-Abidi, and Mohammed al-Attas will join in team events. Captain Abdulaziz Abdullah al-Hajaji emphasized that Qatar will enter the WMPC as the defending champion, acknowledging the challenge posed by the world's top skydivers. However, he expressed confidence in the team's readiness, attributing it to their recent training camp that enhanced their technical proficiency, physical condition, and teamwork.

Additionally, Qatari international judge Mohammed al-Hajri will join the officiating team, underscoring the increasing influence of Qatari expertise in the realm of air sports.
