Prakash Raj claims name deleted from voter rolls

Bengaluru actor Prakash Raj has alleged that his name has been removed from the electoral rolls in Bangalore during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter records. In a video post on his X account, the actor claimed he was among the 65 lakh voters whose voting rights have been deleted after SIR. Raj, who was born, lived, and received his education in the constituency, also mentioned that he was an MP candidate for the area and a National Award-winning multi-lingual actor.

He expressed his intention to find out the process to restore his voter ID. Raj playfully suggested that the ruling government could use its powers to deny voting rights to some citizens, but questioned if they could stop the public from bringing them down. As per reports, his name is listed in the ASDDO (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate, and Others) list from Bangalore Central's Shantinagar constituency, with the reason cited as permanently shifted. The Election Commission has not yet responded to the actor's claim.
