2027: How opposition plans to unseat Tinubu – Salihu Lukman

Former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Salihu Lukman has stressed the need for a new alliance of opposition parties under the G100 umbrella to unite and back a single presidential candidate to challenge President Bola Tinubu and his ruling party. During an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’, Lukman urged presidential candidates from various political parties to avoid internal divisions that could undermine their chances of defeating Tinubu.

He emphasized that the G100's purpose was to create a cohesive front to address Nigeria's issues effectively and encourage candidate engagement while defining a clear post-election plan. Lukman urged all candidates to remember that only one can be president, and the coalition sought to ensure they all win the election. He stated they aimed to present a formidable opposition that would give Nigerians confidence, allowing them to vote for the winning candidates.

Lukman warned that if the opposition remains divided, they risk repeating the 2023 outcome, potentially failing to achieve their desired results. He admitted that the task was complex, urging candidates and their supporters to prioritize Nigeria's welfare over personal interests.
