Official | Filip Jörgensen joins Strasbourg from Chelsea on loan

RC Strasbourg Alsace have officially confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen (24) on a season-long loan from Chelsea FC. The move comes to an end of Strasbourg's search for a new goalkeeper after the previous one, Mike Penders, completed his loan with Chelsea. Jörgensen had been in France for the past week, awaiting the completion of the transfer, which was delayed due to administrative hiccups.

Once cleared, he'll make his debut in Strasbourg's final friendly against Newcastle United on Saturday, followed by the season opener away to Olympique de Marseille on Friday, August 21st. Strasbourg faced difficulties during the preseason, conceding a concerning 20 goals in just five friendlies. The club's new coach, Hugo Oliviera, hopes that Jörgensen's addition will address this issue.
