New Norkor Oyoko family head calls for unity, accountability

Mr Samuel Boadu Dankwa, the newly appointed Ebusuapanyin of the Norkor Oyoko Family in Sakyikrom, Eastern Region, has called for unity, accountability, and collaboration among family members to improve their collective welfare. Mr Dankwa, who succeeded the late Sampson Wilson Yaw Krow, emphasized the importance of prioritizing collective interests over individual gains and maintaining truthfulness, transparency, and effective communication to preserve peace, resolve conflicts, and promote long-term development.

Speaking to *The Ghanaian Times* after his enstoolment, Mr Dankwa, who currently serves as a Technical Officer at the Cocoa Health and Extension Division of the Ghana Cocoa Board, expressed his gratitude to the family for entrusting him with this leadership role. He pledged to lead with humility, fairness, and dedication, taking decisions that would benefit all members equally.

To achieve his vision, Mr Dankwa proposed constructing a family house to serve as a permanent venue for meetings, funerals, and other significant gatherings. He also advocated for investment in a family-owned transport business and other ventures to generate employment opportunities for the youth and provide financial resources for sustainable growth.

One of the major challenges faced by the family, according to Mr Dankwa, is encroachment on family lands, which has impeded growth and deprived the family of valuable resources. He assured the public that steps would be taken to address this issue by working with legal authorities to protect the family's heritage.

Mr Dankwa urged family heads and elders to remain truthful, open, and accountable in their dealings. He cautioned that dishonesty and favoritism could erode trust and lead to division within the family.
