Mitra salur RM6.7 juta untuk 3 inisiatif komuniti India

Mitra, the India Malaysia Community Transformation Unit, has allocated RM6.7 million towards three initiatives aimed at benefitting students, entrepreneurs, and Hindu religious institutions across the country. These initiatives include the Madani Scholarship Program, the India B40/M40 Entrepreneur Grant (Uyarvu Madani), and Dharma Madani.

Minister of Human Resources R Ramanan emphasized that community development requires a holistic and inclusive approach, including ensuring continued growth in education, entrepreneurial support, and community institutions. He noted that the three initiatives are not merely financial assistance but investments in human capital, economic growth, and overall societal welfare.

Ramanan stated, "The three initiatives demonstrate that the government is not only providing financial assistance but also investing in human capital development, economic growth, and societal well-being." The Madani Scholarship Program 2026 allocated RM2.63 million to 28 scholarship centers in seven states, benefiting 2,343 SPM and STPM students.

The program runs for five months from August to December, offering structured tutorial classes. Meanwhile, 128 entrepreneurs received grants exceeding RM3.05 million through the first Uyarvu Madani series of 2026 under the Micro, Growth, and High categories. Dharma Madani allocated RM1.04 million to 52 Hindu temples for the fourth series.

So far, the government has disbursed a total of RM13.52 million to 676 Hindu religious institutions nationwide, which includes funds for cultural classes for students and the establishment of community centers as spaces for learning, cultural activities, and community programs.
