Lee says state's primary duty is to protect people's lives, safety

He made these remarks during the inauguration of the nation's inaugural hospital specifically designed to treat first responders. President Lee stated that protecting the lives and safety of the population is the paramount duty of the state.

Firefighters are crucial in upholding this duty, particularly at accident scenes and during disasters. He noted that their efforts ensure the public's safety and tranquility in their daily routines. The National Fire Hospital, located in Eumseong, North Chungcheong Province, is the country's first general hospital dedicated to caring for firefighters and other first responders, as well as conducting research focused on their occupational health needs.

The hospital commenced operations in June to offer healthcare services to firefighters, police officers, and their families, as well as to local residents. President Lee expressed his hope that this National Fire Hospital would serve as a reliable and compassionate place of care that comprehensively understands and addresses the needs of its patients.
