Lawrence O’Donnell Says Trump ‘Controls Nothing,’ Not Even His Own Plane

The "Last Word" host discussed a report from The Washington Post, which claimed that Trump secretly flew out of Turkey on an alternate military aircraft after an Iranian assassination threat. According to the report, Trump swapped planes by riding in a catering truck, and even the journalists and some staff aboard Air Force One were unaware of the switch.

O'Donnell also noted the grounding of Trump's Qatari-gifted jet, which became his new Air Force One after security concerns, and speculated about the extent of Trump's feelings of loss of control when informed of the situation in Turkey. Furthermore, O'Donnell highlighted the ongoing war in Iran, pointing out that it has been 164 days since Trump initiated the conflict, which he initially estimated would be over in days or weeks.

The ongoing unproductive talks between the U.S. and Iran, as well as Iran's potential deal with Oman, have led O'Donnell to conclude that Trump has achieved nothing and Iran is now closer to gaining control of the Strait of Hormuz. Ultimately, O'Donnell emphasized that while Trump "controls nothing," as of Day 164 of his war against Iran.
