Karnataka: BJP says it will not allow legislature proceedings if Nagendra is not sacked

The Opposition BJP declared on Tuesday that it would refuse to allow the proceedings of the Monsoon Session in Karnataka if MLA B. Nagendra is not sacked from his ministry position. Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok demanded the immediate resignation of Nagendra from the ministry. Ashok emphasized that the BJP would hold protests both inside and outside the legislature demanding Nagendra's resignation and questioned the government's responsibility in conducting the legislature session.

He highlighted that Nagendra is currently an accused individual facing 31 cases under investigation, including three with the CBI, five with the Lokayukta, and one with the SIT. Ashok also drew attention to the Maharshi Valmiki ST Development Corporation case, where former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah admitted to ₹89 crore in misappropriation, suggesting that Nagendra may have blackmailed the Chief Minister and high command.
