Kano NSCDC nabs suspect linked to motorcycle theft syndicate

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State has apprehended a 45-year-old man suspected of involvement in a motorcycle theft syndicate. The suspect, Mustafa Sani, was taken into custody at his residence in Kumbotso Local Government Area. This arrest came as a result of credible intelligence that connected him to the criminal activities of a motorcycle theft ring operating within Kano City.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, informed that the suspect was identified through a companion motorcycle with the registration number GRR 958 QB (Jigawa), which was traced to his residence. Upon searching his home, authorities discovered a stolen motorcycle believed to have been taken from a hospital on Rijiyar Zaki, Gwarzo Road, Kano State.

In addition to the motorcycle, the suspect was found in possession of 11 registered motorcycle number plates, six screwdrivers, three pliers, and three sets of motorcycle keys, which are believed to have been stolen. The principal suspect, Mansur Nasir Khalil, also known as "S-Guy," remains at large, and the NSCDC has issued a manhunt to apprehend him.

The NSCDC State Commandant, Mohammed Agalama, praised the operatives for their vigilance and intelligence-led operation, promising to intensify efforts to dismantle criminal networks involved in motorcycle theft and other forms of criminality within Kano State. He encouraged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide any information that could assist in crime prevention and detection.

The arrested suspect will undergo a thorough investigation before being prosecuted in line with the law.
