JPPM sedang teliti aduan Bersatu berhubung status ahli dalam PN

The Malaysian Registrar of Corporate Bodies (JPPM) is investigating claims by Bersatu regarding its status within the National Partnership (PN). This controversy emerged after PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang recently asserted that Bersatu is no longer a component of the opposition coalition. In a statement, JPPM disclosed that they are examining Bersatu's concerns concerning their exclusion from the PN's highest council meeting held on July 16, which formalized the distribution of seats among the coalition parties ahead of the PRN in Negeri Sembilan.

JPPM stated they have received a letter from Bersatu today and are currently investigating the claim based on the Companies Act 1966, the Companies Regulations 1984, the PN Constitution approved, and JPPM's official records. They emphasized that all information, documents, and explanations provided by the parties concerned would be examined to ensure a thorough review according to the law.

JPPM stressed that all registered corporations must comply with the Companies Act, relevant regulations, and respective constitutional frameworks. The matter under investigation will be scrutinized based on the provisions of the current law, they added. JPPM also stated that their agency will conduct the task professionally and impartially, without favoring any organization or political party.

The controversy over Bersatu's status in PN arose after PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang recently claimed that the party is no longer a component of the opposition coalition. Hadi stated that PN's constitution designates any party choosing to join or form another coalition would automatically lose its standing within that coalition.

He referred to a statement made by Bersatu President Muhyiddin Yassin earlier this week, in which he said his party would form a new coalition with several parties following the PRN in Negeri Sembilan. Subsequently, Azmin Ali, Deputy General Secretary of Bersatu, denied Hadi's allegation, stating there is no clause in PN's constitution that authorizes the automatic withdrawal of a component party's standing.

Muhyiddin had previously stated that Bersatu was not invited to attend the special PN's Majlis-Tinggi meeting on July 16, which formalized the seat distribution among the coalition parties ahead of the PRN in Negeri Sembilan.
