iOS 27 public beta 3 is here with Siri AI, iPhone speed upgrades, and more

The third iOS 27 public beta is now available for iPhone users. This update brings Apple's biggest software overhaul of the year, with Siri AI as the key feature. Users will also find a redesigned Screen Time experience, refinements to Liquid Glass, performance upgrades, and numerous quality-of-life enhancements. To install the beta, backup your iPhone and follow the instructions provided.

Beta software may contain bugs, reduced battery life, and compatibility issues with third-party apps. For optimal performance, use the beta on a secondary device, or ensure you have a recent backup of your primary iPhone. iOS 27 supports iPhone 11 and newer, including the iPhone SE (2nd generation and later). However, Apple Intelligence is only compatible with iPhone 15 Pro or newer.

Siri AI is the standout feature of iOS 27, with a rebuilt system based on Apple Intelligence. This version of Siri can engage in ongoing conversations, search personal data, understand onscreen content, interact with apps, and answer broader questions. Siri responses appear on the Dynamic Island, and a standalone Siri app keeps a private history synced through iCloud.

Siri also now has early access to information from third-party apps and added controls for pace and expressivity. Some advanced on-device features, like Spatial Reframing in Photos, require iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, or iPhone Air. Other AI-powered enhancements include automatic tab organization in Safari, web page change notifications, and advanced editing tools like Clean Up and Extend.

The Passwords app can replace weak or compromised passwords, and Shortcuts can build automations from natural-language requests. iOS 27 also includes major improvements to Screen Time and parental controls, with a new dashboard for clearer activity monitoring and one-tap time limits. Communication Safety has been expanded to detect and blur gore or violent content.

However, the redesigned experience requires participating Family Sharing devices to be running iOS 27. The iOS 27 public beta will continue to evolve throughout the summer, with the final version expected to launch in the fall. Users can report issues through the built-in Feedback Assistant app.
